About
I’ve been playing and creating music for as long as I can remember. In the 1990s, I was the drummer in a band called The Rake’s Progress. We were the first act signed to ALMO Sounds, Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss’s offshoot label. We were on MTV, the cover of Billboard, and Late Night with Conan. We made two records for them but they didn’t catch. We were dropped and the lead singer and I started a Jingle business in New York, as well as a 70s and 80s-inspired band called Booga Sugar. The business and band did well, but right as we were taking off, 9/11 happened. It was a life changing event, and I stopped music and moved with my family to MA. I went back to school and became a Park Ranger (which I still am today), but music was calling and I had to get back to it. I collaborated with a good friend on a project called Small Parade and I put together a small studio in my basement. In 2023, I started writing and making this record.
My influences include the Beatles, Beach Boys, ELO, David Bowie, Radiohead, Depeche Mode, The Postal Service, Beach House, and Low Roar. My new record, Strange Reality, is the first time I've done everything on a record, from writing to playing all of the instruments to producing and mixing. All of these songs come from a personal place. I hope you enjoy them.
